세월따라

無我

누가 내게 '당신이 마지막으로 이 세상에 주고 갈 말이 무엇이냐?

고 묻는다면 '무아(無我)'라는 두 글자입니다.

두번째 세번째 역시 내가 세상에 두고 가고 싶은 말은

'無我'라는 두 글자뿐입니다.

모두가 '나, 내 것, 내 자식 것' 한다면

이 세상은 결국 망하고 말것입니다.

그러나 이웃을 생각하며 '우리, 우리 것, 우리 자식 것' 한다면

이 세상은 모두가 행복한 세상이 될 것입니다.

至人無己 : 지극한 경지에 이른 사람은 자기를 나타내지 않고,

神人無功 : 신의 경지에 이른 자는 공을 드러내지 않으며,

聖人無名 : 성인의 경지에 이른 자는 이름을 드러내지 않느니라.

이 곳에 무(無)자 대신에 자아(自我)를 넣게 되면

이 세상은 지옥이 되고 맙니다.

그러므로 '無我'가 세상을 다스려야 천국이 되는 것입니다.

Take a Good Look at Yourself.

Take a good look at yourself.
You are already saved.
You are originally Buddha.
You are overflowing with happiness and glory,
so to talk of paradise or heaven is to be talking in your sleep.

Take a good look at yourself.
Transcend time and space, and you'll see that you are eternal, infinite.
Should the skies collapse and the earth disappear, you are still immovable.
You are all forms and all formlessness in the universe.
You are the universe itself.
You are the twinkling stars, the dancing butterflies, you are everything.

Take a good look at yourself.
All truths are within you.
To look for truth outside yourself is like searching for water outside the ocean.

Take a good look at yourself.
There is no death in eternity.
But those who don't know who they are worry about death.
They fret about it, and they dread it.

Take a good look at yourself.
You are originally pure gold.
But because you are blinded by greed and desire, you mistake this gold for alloy.
Forget your selfishness and use all your energies to help others.
If you eliminate all traces of desire,
the Eye of your Heart will open up wide,
and you'll see yourself as you are, as pure gold...

Take a good look at yourself.
This age of rampant materialism is harming you.
You are the ocean itself, yet you are paying attention only to the spray from the waves.
Dwell on the ocean.

Take a good look at yourself.
The Buddha did not appear in this world to save us.
He came to tell us that we are already saved.
And it is a tremendous joy for us to live with this truth--so let's all congratulate one another!

자기를 바로 봅시다.

자기를 바로 봅시다.
자기는 원래 구원되어 있습니다.
자기가 본래 부처입니다.
자기는 항상 행복과 영광에 넘쳐 있습니다.
극락과 천당은 꿈 속의 잠꼬대입니다.

자기를 바로 봅시다.
자기는 시간과 공간을 초월하여 영원하고 무한합니다.
설사 허공이 무너지고 땅이 없어져도 자기는 항상 변함없습니다.
유형, 무형 할 것 없이 우주의 삼라만상이 모두 자기입니다.

자기를 바로 봅시다.
모든 진리는 자기 속에 구비되어 있습니다 .
만약 자기 밖에서 진리를 구한다면,
이는 바다 밖에서 물을 구함과 같습니다.

자기를 바로 봅시다.
자기는 영원하고 종말이 없습니다.
자기를 모르는 사람은 세상의 종말을 걱정하며
두려워하며 헤매고 있습니다

자기를 바로 봅시다.
현대는 물질만능에 휘말리어 자기를 상실하고 있습니다.

자기를 바로 봅시다.
부처님은 이 세상을 구원하러 오신 것이 아니요,
이 세상이 본래 구원되어 있음을 가르치러 오셨습니다.
